The end of another era

This is a blog I have been meaning to write for about five or six weeks now and just can't get my head round to writing it, I think because it has been so emotionally loaded for me. I have felt such a sense of overwhelming loss. Even writing this is making me feel really emotional.

Two years ago we began our second Mediumship Diploma, with twenty five people and lots of lessons learned from the first time around! But what people might not have seen is the emotional commitment I made to my students. This is because I want to change the way Mediumship is taught, by putting the focus on students’ personal experiences, rather than my own.

I wanted to create a Diploma that would blow wide open people’s understanding of who they are and how they got to the point in their lives which led them to this learning. I also hoped the Diploma would inevitably bring about massive change in their lives, not just in their skills in perceiving the unseen world, but also their skills in interacting with the world in general.

I’m so proud to say that our Mediumship Diploma shows success in this. I have watched our recent Diploma students begin the course feeling scared and unsure of who they are and develop into amazing people who know exactly where they want to be and what they contribute to the world.

Our training academy was born during covid when we had to diversify the company to bring income in crazy times, but it was also born out of a passion to deliver excellent training in a very niche field. The cornerstone of what we do, helping people to become the best versions of themselves spiritually, emotionally and physically, became the default result of all of our training, workshops and events without even knowing it!

So, what is Mediumship training and can someone just train to become a Medium? Well, first we should make sure we know what is a Medium? A Medium is someone who experiences both the physical world and the subtle energy of the spirit world, and can translate energy into tangible evidential information that can be shared with the world!

But isn't Mediumship a gift? That's a question I get asked alot! The answer is no, it's not a gift. We are all spirit people living a human life and some of us are energetically closer to that energy by being chilled, more spiritually minded, balanced etc. These individuals are usually people who have always felt others’ emotions, sensed a world that others haven’t. I guess these individuals are closer to the energy that is fundamentally who we really are - the ancient wonderful beings who come to this earth to learn, and many of us forget this part of ourselves when we are so stuck in what we think we should be doing.

All of that said, I don't believe everyone who has these experiences or lives their life that way should work as a medium, I believe the gift of mediumship is way more complicated than just giving messages. The true gift of mediumship is being able to look after people in your care, make informed decisions on whether someone is in the best place to have a reading, and sometimes signposting and helping people in other ways. It’s not our intention to take people’s money and thrash our hundreds of mediocre readings.

Our diploma moves into every avenue of this and also helps people to understand along the way if it is actually something they would like to pursue.

During the two years, friendships are formed like family and I feel such an emotional connection to every single one of our students. We were able to start our 3rd Mediumship Diploma shortly after this finished, which will mean 60 new Mediums will have been trained by us within 6 years! All the way feeling inspired by the wonderful spirit world’s teaching and staying true to these fundamental principles of honesty.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of these amazing people for their friendship, their hard work and dedication to always doing amazing work, and pushing themselves through the best of times and those times where it felt bloody difficult. I am so excited to see what they all do with everything they have learned.

Sitting in my office writing this blog with tears in my eyes I am so incredibly grateful to have the best job in the world, a job that brings out the very best in people, a job that brings people together, a job that surrounds me with wonderful new friends and a wider community of like minded people.

So, from my soul to yours, Mediumship diploma 2022-2024 thank you, I love you all.

Steven, The Soul Man
