Christmas Spirit
I’d like to share one of my favourite poems this time of year that I think connects with that feeling of loss that we can all experience during the festive season and is my talking point of this year's Christmas blog…
If tomorrow starts without me
And I’m not here to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
Are filled with tears for me
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today
While thinking of the many things
We didn’t get to say
I know how much you love me
As much as I love you
And each time you think of me
I know you’ll miss me too
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand
And said my place was ready
In Heaven far above
And that I’d have to leave behind
All those I dearly love
But when I walked through Heaven’s gate
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me
From His great golden throne
He said this is eternity
And all I promised you
Today your life on earth is past
But here it starts anew
I promise no tomorrow
For today will always last
And since each day’s the same way
There’s no longing for the past
So when tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me
I’m right here in your heart

When we are so caught up in that wave of grief, understand that our loved ones in the spirit world don't want us to cry, you see they are more alive now than they have ever been. They are free of pain, free of the fear and anticipation of death, they have left the body that wasn't able to house their bright and wonderful soul.
They watch us… unseen, willing us to feel better, telling us they are now okay, the pain we feel is our grief, our loss, not their loss. They are more alive than they have ever been, part of the knowledge of everything.
Our loved ones in the spirit world aren't in this out of reach place, they are accessible, and maybe more than you could ever know.
So here is how to make that meaningful connection with them…
I'd love you to take some time to set up a comfortable space where you can concentrate and won't be disturbed.
Get a photograph of your loved one and a plain white candle, play their favourite music if you can and ask out loud:
“(name) come sit with me a while, take time out of your day if you can to be with me and allow me to feel you once more.”
Light the candle and speak to them, tell them how much you love them, close your eyes and wait. And watch as you feel them step close, you may not hear any words, it may be an impression or even just a mental image, or perhaps you will see lots.
Now you may see nothing at all…. The key to feeling the spirit world is being consistent, most people give up because they don’t see or feel anything the first time. I promise you with practise and persistence you will over time feel them close.
When we are trying to connect with the spirit world they are made up of energy, so in order for our loved ones to connect with us we must do some housekeeping ourselves.
The role of a medium is to prove the existence of the human soul beyond reasonable doubt and to look after themselves emotionally, physically and spiritually so they can be the best and most conductive vessel for the spirit world.
The same goes for you, if you are trying to feel them but are overwhelmed by grief you must seek the healing within you first. There are some wonderful organisations that can really help you to begin that healing process.

Exercise is so vitally important for our physical wellbeing but also provides us with head space and allows us to think more clearly, just a 30 minute walk in the fresh air can be particularly beneficial.
When we are in a wonderful relaxed state of mind this creates a wonderful canvas for our loved ones to tap into our energy, that's why so many people experience their loved ones around them when they have a regular practice of meditation.
In summary, our loved ones want us to feel them, they want us to make time regularly to sit with them and allow us to feel them. They don’t want us to be sad! They are willing us to live and live well, and understand that they are okay, in fact they are more than okay.
My Christmas wish to you is to be your own medium, to have a weekly practice in which you make time for yourself to heal and create a wonderful canvas for beautiful connections with you mother, father, gran, grandad, brother, sister or even your child.
Love never dies and at this time of year when we reflect we draw them closer than ever, we are spirit people in human bodies bound by this human life. There's no reason why you can't connect with discipline and some wonderful healing practices.
Wishing you and your family both in the seen and unseen world the very happiest of christmases.
From my soul to yours
