Looking after your physical body to be your best as a medium/psychic.

So for many years I was that new age man grabbing a quick cigarette before I stepped on stage to speak at events to and motivate people to lead better lives, followed by a stop at McDonald’s or my local chip shop for quickness on my way home rather than cooking a meal. I would feel tired and drained and when I look back at photographs I think, “Jeezo look at my belly! I look so tired!”

When we don’t feel good about ourselves it’s so hard to be the best we can be, and although my work was good and I was able to inspire others, I wasn’t my best. Watching a well known pioneer of spiritualism work when I was 13 years old, Gordon Higginson, said - ‘Do your best or go home.’ That’s stuck with me all this time and I’ve always tried my best at everything I do. But was I being my best? Probably not.

Years of eating rubbish and constantly trying to lose weight, the ‘diet starts Monday’ mentality had me so confused. I successfully lost weight many times but losing weight wasn’t what I actually needed.

Covid 19 hit and I was forced inside my head and inside the house so I began to research how the body works what the body needs. I’ve spent 2 years learning about nutrition and how eating well from a wide variety of foods is the only way to sustain a healthy life, but more importantly being a healthy being and vibrating on another level. Now I’m aware so many people talk about vibrations, good and bad, and I suppose the word is overused just like vibe, intuitive, heal etc. However, when our cells are being nourished with good vitamins and mineral rich foods, and regular exercise, they quite simply speed up, making us feel 100 times better.

So what does all this mean for your psychic work or mediumship?

When we are feeling our best physically, our mental and spiritual health are much better too.

Think of your body as your car, if you replace the oil, have regular services and look after the car it’s going to work to its best. Since being healthier my spiritual work has become so much more acute, meaning better quality guidance for people and a better connection with the spirit world. It’s easy to dress spiritually, meditate, and listen to spiritual podcasts, music etc, but are you truly living a spiritual life if you are not looking after you?

It’s definitely not been an easy journey and the last 2 years I’ve made loads of mistakes.

I’ve learned that I don’t need to diet, I listen to my body intuitively. This means I get what I need to feel physically well, whilst also strengthening my connection psychically as I’m more intuitively aware spiritually. It’s all marries up in the end and there are so many synchronicities.

I now train with my good friend David Low from Giants PT who gives me a personal training session twice a week and I attend his boot camp session every Wednesday. David has helped me understand my body even more and even though I’m not where I want to be right now, I’m getting there. I also run 3 days a week, having used the couch to 5k app, and I eat really well 6 days a week with one day where I allow myself a treat. I have also stopped smoking. I make sure I go to bed early and get at least 8 hours sleep and wake at 5:30am to run or train early as I have limited time later in my day!

So to get back to the main point in this blog, does Investing in your health really improve psychic and mediumship skills? The answer my friends is yes…! If you want to be the best medium you can be or best intuitive reader, work on yourself first and understand that it’s a journey that’s not going to be done in a couple of weeks, it’s a continuous journey. An evolution of the soul.

I believe that we are always learning and I wished that all those years ago in my early developmental years of psychic work that I’d been given the sound advice that we must look after our physical body in order to operate as the best medium/psychic.

Overall where I’m at right now as I write this blog - I’m a better father, husband, friend and medium as a result of being a better version of myself.
