Being your own Medium

In this blog I want to speak about our amazing ability to be our own medium.

The word medium literally means in between, it was the motivation for my book being In Between Two Worlds - in between two extremes.

Our lives take us in many different directions and at times things can feel frightening and overwhelming. Recently I’ve had so many things in my personal life and at work that have I guess taken me on quite an emotional rollercoaster.

It’s easy to forget why we are doing what we are doing when we are going through such turbulent times. I’ve been tested emotionally, physically and spiritually but the one thing that stays constant is my connection to the unseen army that always has my back.

When we are going through such emotional times, it’s easy to think that we are alone, but the truth of it is that we are never alone. We are always supported by our loved ones who have walked this earth before us.

We can often forget that they are there because we are so consumed with our own thoughts.

So taking the time to listen, taking the time to be in the moment is often something we take for granted.

On the 12th of May I will be in Glasgow sharing with a group of people on how to find the medium within you.

It’s terrifying standing in front of a group of people and talking about your own experiences.

But at the same time, if I can show people how it feels to make a meaningful connection with their loved ones without the need of a medium that I know I’m doing the right thing.

The spiritual world has become something that is pretty popular in recent years with the likes of TikTok and Instagram. But are we getting lost? Is there too much confusing information out there?

Do we need to align our chakras? Do we need to know about spirit guides?

The truth of it is no we don’t.

We just need to get ourselves into a good place, physically, emotionally and spiritually, so that we can be the best, most conductive vessel for the spirit world.

And when we are going through things, physical illness, disease, poor health, and it’s hard to make a connection because we are so consumed with what is going on with us.

When we are going through things emotionally that feel difficult, it’s also hard to make a connection because we are so consumed by our emotions. So in order for us to make a deep and meaningful connection with the spirit world, we need to be good physically and emotionally spiritually, so we can make that connection.

Now what I’m saying here is that we can all be our own Medium, but not all of us are capable of working as Mediums.

Why is that? I hear you ask the simple answer, is that the work of a medium is to help people come to terms with and accept physical loss as well as giving proof of survival. To be a Medium is to be a spiritual counsellor, someone who has the ability to give information, but also to ensure that the person they are working with is okay.

So when you see people giving card readings online or mediumship readings online to the masses, they don’t always understand how vulnerable people may be.

It is my truest belief that the work of a Medium should mostly be done in conditions that are private so that Medium can ensure that the person they are working with is okay. It may not even be the right time for that person to have a reading, and that’s where we have a massive responsibility to ensure that people are signposted and helped.

So, in summary, to be your own Medium, you must be in the best place possible, physically, emotionally and spiritually. And when you are a wonderful synergy begins. We are able to sit with a clear mind and we feel loved ones like never before.

They won’t give you advice on what to do with your life, because you have free will. However, you will feel them, you will feel them gathering around you to support you and help you in every way we possibly can.

Remember, they have had a physical life and they have experienced all of the challenges that you have.

So today, the first thing that you can do to start to make the connection is to make sure that you’re in a good place, physically and emotionally. Take a photograph of the person that you want to connect with and sit and stare at it, ask out loud for them to come and allow you to feel their presence. Take a few nice big deep breaths and put on some nice calming music. Focus on your breathing and think about the person that you want to connect with, think about the way they made you feel when they were living, remember their eyes, their smell, the way they made you feel.

And sit for a few minutes and see what you perceive. You’ll probably put your experience down to your imagination which is okay, but with more practice you will find this experience magnifies overtime.

Doing this a few times a week and making the space and time to sit and connect with your loved ones is something that we don’t do often. So by adopting this practice, you are giving your loved ones permission and physical time to step in and show you that they are your unseen army of support. Always helping you, always supporting you, never leaving your side.

All my love
